PSA & Fiat in merger discussions?
4401 Reads

According to Reuters reporting of an article from the Milano Finanza newspaper, PSA & Fiat are in the early stages of merger discussions, with support from Presidents Sarkosy & Berlusconi.

More as and when we find out...

Full article :-

PSA & Fiat have history together, with a potential Citroen/Lancia merger in the early '70s dissolving to leave joint-venture commercial vehicle & people-carrier projects and factories through to the present day. Where it'll leave their other joint-ventures (Fiat: Diesel engines sold to GM, joint-model partnerships with Ford & Suzuki; PSA: Diesel engines developed with Ford, petrol engines with BMW, joint-model partnerships with Toyota & Mitsubishi) is anybody's guess...

Essex welcomes Classics!
1554 Reads

It has been brought to our attention (via the FBHVC's newsletters - available on this site to club members) that the car parks at Essex County Council’s country parks all indicate that tax-exempt vehicles have no charge. This has been checked by the FBHVC, and the council confirmed their policy covered all tax exempt vehicles, so it also covered historics.

So, free parking in Essex for pre-73 classics!

The Citroenian's "occasionally provocative" author of the Iconoclast column, Julian Marsh, has made a series of 2009 calendars available to the Citroen community, through his "Citroenet" website - one of the most comprehensive and authoritative guides to Citroen history, marketing and literature on the web.

Delivered as a PDF file, with a high-quality original Citroen publicity image for each month, and focussing on one model per calendar, they can be downloaded from a number of sources, including here.

- General calendar, featuring many models & concept cars
- A-series (2cv, Dyane, Ami etc)
- BX
- CX
- DS
- GS & GSA
- Visa & Axel
- XM

Drive It Day 2008
2181 Reads

It's now less than two weeks until the 2008 FBHVC (Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs) Drive It Day on April 20th.

Drive It Day is an annual celebration of the historic vehicle. Most historic vehicles (with the term used in it's loosest sense) are used very little throughout the year - so one day a year has been proposed to get them all out and show Joe Public just what a wonderful variety there is hidden away.

More details can be found at the Federation's website (www.fbhvc.co.uk), including a leaflet designed to give all the background detail to the day - Click here
